Arkedo Series – 01 JUMP! is an oldskool platform game which has some great ‘modern retro’ style graphics, great presentation and music and sound. The aim of the game is to find all the bombs on the level before they blow up and sees your character jumping platforms while avoiding and shooting enemies, it is good old fashioned gaming brought up to date. This is an impressive game and a very easy recommendation for everyone to try and hopefully buy this game. The full game costs 240 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here.
Fields Reloaded is a side scrolling shooter game, the players home has been overrun by enemy soldiers and you have to deal out some revenge. The graphics are done in a nice cellshaded style and the music is not bad and suits the game. The gameplay is OK but I found it quite easy as there is a time field ability which slows everything down in an area and health regeneration makes an easy game. This does however look to be a fairly decent game judging from the trial and it only costs 80 :MSPoints: so it could be a good purchase, it is worth checking out at least. Ninja Bros is a puzzle based platform game. You control up to four ninjas on screen at any time with just one joypad. The aim of the game is to get the ninjas which are coloured to match your joystick buttons to their respective exits. If you press left or right then all the ninjas will move, but a ninja will only jump if you press their coloured button. The graphics are not great but I think the gameplay could be enough to make this a good game, I enjoyed the trial a lot and its another I recommend to check out. Slingstar is a fairly original game (it is a little similar to Gum Drop Celestial Frontier) where instead of shooting enemies you destroy them with physics. You control a spacecraft with two wingmen and must use the momentum to sling your wingmen into the enemy. It is an interesting idea but it did not grab me as much as I thought it would. I will be reviewing Slingstar next week but the game is interesting enough to recommend trying the trial at least. Slingstar costs 80 :MSPoints: and more information can be found here.
The Visualizer is a music visualization program which can play music from your 360, CD or stream from your PC. The visualizations are not too bad and animate in time to the music so no complaints there. It is one of the better apps of this nature that I have seen recently so if you are bored of the built in one on the 360 this might be worth checking out.
