PlayStation Plus is the new monthly subscription announced at the Sony E3 press conference. What do you get for your $49.99 a year?
Each month you will be able to download at least four games; one PSN game, two minis and one PS one classics for free. You will also be able to download premium avatars and dynamic themes of which some are exclusive to PlayStation Plus. Discounted games will change monthly and will be available to members. Members will also have access to betas and selected demo’s before they are available to non members.
A new ‘Full Game Trial’ features allows Premium Plus members to download PSN and Blu-ray disc titles and play the game in full for up to one hour. This is a new way to demo a game and it sounds quite interesting. I am sure you all agree, demo’s can often not show the full potential of a game, so getting to play it freely for a hour should be great.
Automatic Download is the final announced feature and will allow you to set a time for your PS3 to automatically download the latest system software updates, game patches and demo’s. I hate switching on the PS3 to find a new software update which takes forever to download and install so this is a great feature, but honestly it should be included as standard.
More details will be available soon at http://playstationplus.com/ and if you sign up between 29th June and 3rd August for a years subscription you will receive a free downloadable copy of Little Big Planet.
