This weeks Xbox Indie Game Round Up includes Avatar Legends, UpBot Goes Up and Plane Traffic.
I have slightly changed the layout in this weeks releases. The ‘Geddon It!’ category games have larger images to emphasise their quality and all games have an easier to read name, cost, marketplace link and if available a link to the trailer. Trial impressions remain for the best games as always. Below is the is the game compilation video of the weeks releases.
Up next are this weeks releases sorted in a rough order on how good they are over three categories. Trial impressions have been wrote for the Geddon it! category games, the rest use the developers descriptions, though take a look at all the games as something may interest you.
Geddon It!
Avatar Legends – 240 :MSPoints: – Marketplace – Trailer
[singlepic id=5975 w=320 h=240 float=center]
Avatar Legends is a RPG game which contains a story mode and a creation mode to build your own maps which can be shared online. The story mode according to the developer lasts over ten hours which is great if true. I only got to experience a very small part in the trial mode but the game looked very impressive with some of the best looking 3D graphics I have seen on XBLIG. The game is played in a 3D world with large areas to explore, completing quests for NPC’s and seamlessly fighting battles with real-time enemies. Avatar Legends supports online with up to five other players and you can share your built maps with them to play together. I have heard some very good feedback from others who have bought the full game and the price of 240 :MSPoints: for a limited time means this is one offer you should not refuse.
UpBot Goes Up – 240 :MSPoints: – Marketplace
[singlepic id=5982 w=320 h=240 float=center]
UpBot Goes Up is a puzzle game with a simple set of rules. You must push coloured bots into their respective matching coloured launch pads to complete the level. The bots can only move in one direction so clever thinking is required to move blocks in other directions, such as using another block to slide it left or right when that bot can only move downwards. The game comes with sixty levels so there is plenty of content to get through. The presentation is done very well with colourful artwork and good sounding music which gives a polished game feel. If you enjoy challenging puzzle games this is one to check out!
Akane the Kunoichi – 80 :MSPoints: – Marketplace – Trailer
[singlepic id=5974 w=320 h=240 float=center]
Akane the Kunoichi is an action platformer. You play as a Kunoichi ninja called Akane whose secretly loved master Goro has been kidnapped. You must fight your way through a respective number of levels while dispatching the many minions you will encounter. The game is not difficult to play, enemies follow set pathways so a bit of patience is required but otherwise they should not pose too much of a problem. The graphics and music look and sound great, though the Sonic the Hedgehog style level start animation feels very out of place. All in all a decent action platform game and at only 80 :MSPoints: this should keep you occupied for a hour or two.
Plane Traffic – 80 :MSPoints: – Marketplace
[singlepic id=5980 w=320 h=240 float=center]
Plane Traffic is inspired from the popular mobile device games such as Flight Control. The aim of the game is to land aircraft on their matching coloured runways. The mobile version used the touch screen to alter the aircraft’s direction and the transformation to Xbox 360 works fairly well by selecting the aircraft and pointing it in the direction you want. It is a simple game done well, but it can be very challenging trying to juggle several planes at once due to the controls. Great for a quick pick up and play than spending hours working out puzzle solutions so if you enjoy casual games this is ideal.
