With the release date for EDF: Insect Armageddon approaching quickly, now is a better time than ever to catch up on the features that set this apart from the Xbox 360 exclusive title Earth Defense Force: 2017 with a whole arsenal of weapons, and more co-op than ever before.[nggtags gallery=edfia2]
While Earth Defense Force: 2017 was unique (and impossible to find via retail) it had a few hiccups, which can be accounted for being an early title for the Xbox 360. However, D3Publisher and the new Vicious Cycle studio working on the game, they made quite a few changes such as the co-op centered campaign, and survival modes as well as adding in player revivals for your three man group of high-tech exterminators in co-op and up to six in the survival mode.

Another change that really sets the game apart is the weaponry, which has literally been doubled from the last game to a whopping 300+ unique weapons to add to your inventory. Luckily for all of you masochists out there, you can also try out the new punishingly hard “Inferno Mode” of gameplay if you like a bit of a challenge to test out all of those brand new weapons.
EDF: Insect Armaggedon is set to release July 5th for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, here’s hoping I’ll see you online to help in the effort against the insect horde.
