Back in May we reported that Digital Reality and developer Candygun Games were working on a new game called “Dead Block”. The time has come and the release dates for both platforms have been announced.[nggtags gallery=DeadBlockannounced]
Set in the U.S. during the idyllic 1950s, Dead Block takes players to a simpler time when a gallon of gas cost a few pennies, the “golden age” of cinema was in full swing, and that new (and apparently insanely evil) craze called rock ‘n roll swept the nation—and caused an apocalyptic musical plague to turn the deceased into the walking dead!
Players can choose from three survivors of the zombie outbreak – Boy Scout Mike Bacon, construction worker Jack Foster, and no-nonsense meter maid Foxy Jones. Each character has a unique “Smart Bomb” attack which we can assume is a powered attacked used to get you out of a jam. Similar to COD’s zombie mode, players will have to take shelter and barricade windows and other potential entrances to their safe haven. You’ll be able to defend yourself using a variety of weapons and power-ups which can also be upgraded to provide a stronger offense/defense.
Dead Block will also feature drop-in/drop-out co-operative gameplay so you and a few friends can get together and watch each others backs. Work together and strategically always makes a game like this more fun, right?
Save your pennies because Dead Block will be arriving to Xbox LIVE Arcade on July 6, 2011 and PlayStation Network on July 20, 2011. The game will cost 800 :MSPoints or $9.99 respectively.
