Fumbo Review

Fumbo is a tile-style puzzle game that supports sort of an African theme. The concept is simple, make the animals whole without leaving parts behind. Is Fumbo worth a look? Read on to find out!

Sometimes even the most basic of puzzle games can be challenging, and Fumbo is surely one of those titles. The game support one mode, giving you a mixed up screen of tiles, and you’re required to put them all together by rotating the tiles and switching them with one another. As long you have no stray heads, legs, or other body parts, you’re good to go. The game supports 3 difficulty levels, and the puzzles become larger as you increase the difficulty level. While it may look confusing since there no real pattern, players can cheat by hitting ‘Y’, which allows you to see what the completed screen should look like.  There’s a timer counting up to see how long it takes you, but there’s no high scores screen nor leaderboards therefore you can ignore that feature.

With such a simplistic title, there is not too much we can say regarding the sound and graphics. As mentioned, the game supports an African theme heard in the fun background music, and seen in the tiles during the game as they are plastered with hippos, monkeys, and a couple other African mammals. The colors are quite vivid, and the game is very presentable. Basic sound effects can also be heard while rotating and switching the tiles as well.

Fumbo is available for 80 :MSPoints: on the marketplace, and for casual gamers it could be worth the price.  Decent visuals and sound, and a low price make it hard to completely look the other way. While there’s not much content, the game offers a solid challenge and you can play at your own pace.
