[xy_game]Sony has announced that Horizon Zero Dawn has officially sold over 2.6 Million copies since its’ release on February 28th. We scored Horizon Zero Dawn with a very well-deserved 9.0 in our review last month, so this news isn’t exactly surprising.
Horizon Zero Dawn currently holds one of the top contender slots for the 2017 Game of the Year race, along with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Both games are fantastic and deserve all the recognition they’ve received thus far.
“We knew Horizon Zero Dawn was going to be something special, so to see the incredible critical reaction to a brand new game world translate into this level of sales is really gratifying,” said Shawn Layden, Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios. “Guerrilla has created a game that is nothing short of exceptional, and the reaction we have seen from fans – from hours and hours of gameplay streaming to endless photo sharing – shows just how impactful it has been.”
According to Sony and Guerrilla Games, these sales numbers include a combination of both digital sales through the PlayStation Store as well as physical copies sold at retail level. Let’s see if it breaks 3 Million copies sold by the holiday season, we wish the team good luck!
